First Generation iPod ShuffleThe first generation iPod Shuffle was introduced on January 11th, 2005 and came in either 512MB or a 1GB version. The 1st Generation iPod Shuffle only came available in white and was the first iPod to use a flash drive. Having no screen enabled Apple to have a lower price point. The first generation iPod Shuffle has 12 hours of audio listing which is a perfect amount of battery life between charges. Second Generation iPod Shuffle OverviewThe iPod Shuffle allows you to play songs randomly from your music library or from your playlist. When using the iTunes’ “Autofill” feature, the iPod Shuffle will populate itself with as many songs as it can hold (up to a total of 1 GB of storage space), and then plays your songs in random order. The user can also select shuffle when playing their songs. They can also have the choice to turn off the shuffle mode when they want. The iPod Shuffle uses a flash memory and was the first iPod that gave us the ability to listen to music the way we want too. The iPod Shuffle is a great iPod that’s well worth the money! Second Generation iPod ShuffleThe second generation iPod Shuffle was released on September 6th 2006 which was almost two years after the launch of the first generation iPod Shuffle. It was introduced in silver with 1GB of music storage; a docking station and an all new redesigned anodized aluminum case. This iPod Shuffle offered 12 continuous hours of music listing. Shortly after the release of the second generation iPod Shuffle on January 30th 2007, Apple decided to spice up their already popular Shuffle with a little color (orange, green Blue, and pink) all other specifications remained the same. Second Generation iPod Shuffle, Second RevisionOn September 5th 2007 Apple added a couple more colors to their lineup, light blue and light green. The previous colors green and blue were replaced with lighter shades, and pink and orange were discontinued. All other specifications remained the same. On February 19th 2008 Apple released the second generation 2GB iPod Shuffle. This iPod Shuffle came available in either purple or product red Special Edition. Someone at Apple had a fun time with the iPod colors because on September 9th 2008 they changed their Blue and green back to brighter shades and purple was replaced with pink. Third Generation iPod ShuffleThe Third Generation iPod Shuffle was released on March 11th 2009. It came available in a 2gb and you had your choice of either silver or black. Its smaller design and controls relocated on the right ear bud cable made this iPod model user friendly. The 3rd Generation iPod Shuffle has 10 hours of battery life which is two hours less than the 2nd Generation iPod. Third Generation iPod Shuffle, Second Revision
