Shortly after the release of the 3rd Generation iPod Classic, on January 6th 2004 Apple introduced the smaller more compact 4GB iPod Mini. It came in 5 colors, had a battery life of 8 hours and was the introduction of the first click wheel.
Second Generation iPod Mini
On February 22nd 2005 Apple increased their capacity a little with the availability of either a 4GB or a 6GB Mini iPod, which came in more vibrant colors and had a total of 18 hours of audio battery life.
